Former Ithacan Gerry Eastman returns to his hometown to perform Friday at the Southside Community Center, as part of the annual Juneteenth celebration.
Now living in New York City, the jazz guitarist recently released "Lovecentric," a CD that pays tribute to John Coltrane, Miles Davis and Duke Ellington, among others.
For this concert, Eastman will be joined by Joe Ford, Rolan Alexander, Taru Alexander, Mamiko Watanabe, Shawn and T.C. III.
Tickets for the 8 p.m. concert are $13 for adults, $9 for seniors and children under 12.
Juneteenth will continue Saturday with an all-day street festival on the 300 block of S. Plain Street (in front of Southside C.C.).
