CORTLAND -- The Cultural Council of Cortland County (CCCC) invites artists to participate in the upcoming 2005 Arts in the Park Festival in downtown Cortland. From 1968 to 1982, Courthouse Park was home to an annual summer "Art Fair." Talented artists from all regions of New York State gathered in Cortland to showcase their work. The CCCC hopes to rekindle the magic by hosting the first Arts in the Park Festival of the 21st Century. The event is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 30 at Courthouse Park.
Artists will sell their work, and awards will be presented in various categories. Artists working in both two and three dimensions are invited to participate.
Local professional and amateur musicians will be performing live, classically oriented music as a lawn concert throughout the event. Children's art and related activities are also planned.
Participants will be included in the event website, http://cortlandarts.org, with links to individual websites if desired. Information will also appear in www.cortlandevents.com, the Cultural Council of Cortland County's new website. A registration form can be obtained online from either website or by contacting David Beale at 753-7786.
