CORTLAND -- The J.M. McDonald Sports Complex is holding a Family Dance from 7-11 p.m. Saturday, July 9 in the Suit-Kote Arena.
"Families who visit our facility tell us they would like to see events that are suitable for the entire family," said Tamara Sciera, marketing director for the sports complex. "After some brainstorming, we decided to hold a Family Country Dance featuring live music. It didn't take long to line up the live music, since my father has ties to country music in our area (that he built) before moving to Florida a few years ago."
The Rhythm-aire's will be holding a 50th anniversary dance at the J.M. McDonald Sports Complex. Skip Demeree, a former lead singer of the group, will make a special appearance to accompany the current band members, Ray Randall, Paul Levandowski and Reggie Steele. The group primarily entertains in the Syracuse area, so Cortland is in for a special treat at this night of music, square and line dancing.
Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children. Food and drinks will be available at the concession stand during this event.
