CORTLAND -- City residents are invited to attend a free personal safety workshop taught by Officer Bryan Nelson of the Cortland City Police Department. The program is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday July 27 at East End Community Center, 46 Elm Street, Cortland.
This workshop, designed to teach citizens basic personal safety techniques, will cover: awareness of your surroundings, defensive tactics you can use and simple strategies you can employ to keep yourself safe when out in the community. Wear loose fitting clothing and comfortable shoes, as you will be practicing some of the techniques.
