Joejo

The title of Joejo's debut CD on I-Town Records says it all: "Cowpunk from Willseyville." It's an appropriate description of the band's rootsy influences, infectious grooves and lyrics about memorable characters.

Led by bassist-singer-songwriter David Hinkle, Joejo also includes guitarists Mike Cederstrom and Scott Seidts, singer-percussionist Keli Carlson, and (on the CD), drummer Greg English. Johnny Dowd, Hinkle's former bandmate in Neon Baptist, also plays a crucial role as producer and additional musician.

Most of the songs on the CD were written by Hinkle, including "Big Ship," which takes a pointed jab at President Bush. "Bozo," written by Dowd, dates back to the Neon Baptist days.
