Speer Specker Henrie

Speer Specker Henrie is the latest project from four outstanding musicians from the Finger Lakes region of Central New York: Danny Speer and Dee Specker from the Ithaca area, and brothers Bobby and Doug Henrie from near Rochester.

On their debut CD, "Circle D," the quartet perform songs written by Speer over the past 30 years. The common theme? Love. Featuring Specker's rich vocals and fiddle work, Bobby Henrie's deft guitar picking, Speer's sophisticated guitar comping and Doug Henrie's solid bass grooves, the largely acoustic CD draws on bluegrass, jazz, pop and reggae influences for its contemporary folk sound.

To mark the release of "Circle D" on I-Town Records, the band will be playing a gig Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the Rongovian Embassy in Trumansburg from 6:30-9 p.m. They'll be performing songs from the CD, fiddle tunes, and many new songs slated for the band's next CD project.
