The Witching

Since coming together in early 2002, The Witching have become one of Ithaca's most popular bands. Fans of punk, metal and rock have found plenty to like in the band's high-energy shows-wailing vocals, crunching guitar riffs, in-your-face lyrics and pounding rhythms.

Now that powerful sound has been captured for posterity on the Witching's debut CD. Produced by Justin Asher and mastered by Alex Perialas at Pyramid Sound, the self-titled, 35-minute CD features 10 songs that showcase the hard-rocking facets of the band.

The Witching includes Ruby Beil on vocals and violin, Meryl Bursic on lead guitar, Maco Rodriguez on rhythm guitar, Eva Revesz on bass and Barb Dybwad on drums. To learn more about the band, visit www.thewitching.com.

Friday, the Witching appropriately performs at Castaways' big "Halloween Goes to Hell" bash, which also features Jayne County and the Electric Chairs, the Mofos, Glenn, Knives! and the Plank Boys. Visit www.castawaysithaca.com for more information about the show.
